A Sort of Crazy Theory. Polygon Man and the Fighting Polygons

Post by Fabsta1994 on Thu Nov 15, 2012 1:59 am

Now I know this is not the case, but hear me out, I think it sounds pretty cool.

Back in the days of Smash, you had to fight an army of PURPLE Polygon Fighters who attacked the player wave after wave. Could this have been a jab at the Polygon Man? We don't exactly know how the Polygon team was created or even the origins before being replaced with Wireframes.

Now, in regards to the "impossible" concept of Sony and Nintendo combining their games to make an Allstars x Smash. What if they used that single moment in history in a way to tie in a point that the team belonged to Polygon Man, who sent them in as an attempt to invade Nintendo's universe? What if he tried this AGAIN? (So to speak), only in a much greater force?

What do you think?

This title made me think of a hilarious band name...

Sorry, off-topic. Anyway, that could be possible, but I feel that it's a bit of a stretch to think that Nintendo would take a jab at one short-lived Sony ad. Though I won't lie, that's a VERY good idea should a cross-over PSASxSSB game ever come into existence somehow...

Heh, yeah it does sound like one XD

I would agree that it was most likely not intended. ^^; I just think with Nintendo and Sony being bitter rivals it could have been a possibility.

A popular idea I see passed around is Polygon Man taking control of the Master and Crazy Hand. Thoughts?

That'd also be interesting, but we have to see how (if?) Polygon Man fights in PSAS before I'd be committed to seeing that idea in a hypothetical crossover. I mean, what if he sucks as a boss? I'd feel like it'd insult the Hands, or vice versa if he's absolutely amazing.

That is an awesome theory actually. I kind of figured Polygon Man had Master Hand and Crazy Hand for hands, and that maybe they were one being that got split... but I love your polygon army theory. I'd love to see Ratchet, Kratos, Link & Mario fighting in the same arena. One can dream, I suppose.

Perhaps. I've learned to never doubt anything in the industry. Remember that in the early 90s, Sega was the big dog. Less than 10 years later they essentially went bankrupt because they forced out, what was it?, four or five consoles in that short time.

Very true. Even though I wouldn't wish bad on either Nintendo or Sony, I'd love to see those two team up somehow. Sony's online and graphical/hardware quality mixed with Nintendo's properties and creativity, along with getting a system that finally houses all the big name JRPGs would be a dream come true. Maybe add in 2nd party support with all Sega franchises and it would be the ultimate gaming system.

Although I wouldn't want to see them combine portable gaming wise, just because a 3DVita doesn't sound too compelling o.o
