What is you favorite anime/manga?
What anime/manga are you excited about coming out?
What are some favorite quotes?
Who is your favorite anime/manga character?
Do you collect or just watch/read online.
Do you have any memorabilia?
Do you have a favorite artist?
Do you approve of liva action adaptations?
Anime with the best OST? (original soundtrack)
Tell us how you got into anime/manga.

If my username doesn't give a clue then let me stae for the record that I love anime/manga. I have a big pretty decent size collection of anime and a somewhat small manga collection. (if the thread does well enough I will post my collection) I first got inot anime back in the 90's when Toonami was first stared. I remember watching Tenchi Muyo, which happens to be my favorite series, and other like Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon (yes Sailor Moon), Zoids, Gundam, Outlaw Star, etc. I fell off the wagon for a while though then got back on during my Sophomore year of highschool by watching Peacemaker and Chrono Crusade. I can't really pick a favorite manga and am currently reading Ghost in th Shell (Darkhorse second edition) and then I will read Tenjho Tenge full contact edition vol.8. I have 3 stautes one is of masane amaha in witchblade form and the other two are the same, Hyakkisho Shion (Masamuhne Shiorw origional character). One is a special edition with a different color scheme. I have all the Tecnhi Muyo OST's and multiple other soundtracks from anime and games. If I had to pick an artist it would be a toss up between Masamune Shirow (Ghost in the Shell and appleseed), Oh Great! (Tenjho Tenge and Air Gear), and Rei Hiroe (Black Lagoon). The last anime I watched was, for the first time, "Grave of the FireFlies". Most reviews said that the moive was a tearjerker and I was starting to think they were wrong but then the end got me and I had tears in my eyes. Personally I haven't seen any good anime/manga adaptations but I am rooting for the Cowboy Bebop moive when/if it ever comes out as well as the Ghost in the Shell moive becuase Steven spielberg is going to be involved. My favorite quote from an anime is actually my signature, it's the last line in the Tenchi Univrse seeries.

Post by Chaosdreams on Mon Aug 27, 2012 11:55 pm

Alright let's make this somewhat pretty lol

Anime/Manga fans I know your out there so lets discuss it.
What are you watching? (Dub or Sub)

I'm currently watching Sword Art Online, Accel World and Muv-Luv Alternative. I gave up on Naruto, Bleach is on hiatus and as much as I love One Piece I need it to get ahead so I can sit down and have a full day of it.

What are you reading? (manga or light novel)

I'm reading Fairytail, Naruto (sigh), Bleach, Code Breaker: New Waves and every now and then I'll check on Life is Money.

What is you favorite anime/manga?

My favorite anime, now that's a tough one. I'd say that the ones that impact me the most would be FMA:Brotherhood, One Piece, Gantz(well it was), Naruto(it was), Claymore, Death Note, Battle Royale, Fate Zero, Another, Hunter x Hunter 2011(anime). And Guilty Crown was alright. This isn't a precise answer I know lol

What anime/manga are you excited about coming out?

Nothing at the moment is on my radar.

What are some favorite quotes?

Ah, I'll get back to this one day, maybe.

Do you collect or just watch/read online.

watch/read online.

Do you have any memorabilia?

Some plushies, posters, a few actual manga novels from a friend (Naruto).

Do you have a favorite artist?

Never really looked into names but I'm impressed by a few.

Do you approve of liva action adaptations?

If they are sci-fi. Hollywood butchers anything that isn't.

Anime with the best OST? (original soundtrack)

Can't think of anything, but Hunter x Hunter's 2011 closing always gets me pumped. Same for Death Note.

Tell us how you got into anime/manga.

Was young, tv, you know the drill. But it blew up into a pure passion when I moved to Ontario and met a friend who was into it as much as I was. Before I knew it, I was devoured by it, and it helped me want to write a novel series of my own. Currently have two books written, now I'm editing them and once the first one is polished I plan to try my best to publish it. If trash like Twilight and 50 shades of gray can sell, I ensure the world that what I've written is far superior.

I like dub if it's good, I'm fine with subs though.
I collect ones I really like. As far as manga I have 35 volumes of Berserk and 20 of Vagabond. Those are the only manga I collect.
Watching One Piece and the Rock Lee spin off, don't care for Naruto but that is so funny.

I got into it from another forum when people liked Naruto I teased them, then I gave it a try and liked it at the time...then watched other anime and it was awesome.

My top 3 are Berserk, Vagabond and One Piece.

I own a good deal on DVD: Sword of the Stranger, One Piece, FMA, Black Lagoon and others.

Now, that's what I was waiting for!

What are you watching?
Nichijou and Nihonjin No Shiranai Nihongo (dorama)

What are you reading?
It's not my fault that I'm not popular (my avatar says that from me) and Sing 'Yesterday' for Me.

What is you favorite anime/manga?
At this point Nichijou and Azumanga, but Bake/Nisemonogatari is very close to them.

What anime/manga are you excited about coming out?
None in particular, maybe I need to see again the upcoming entries.

What are some favorite quotes?
I like these, but I like even more:

"MELT AWAY! MELT AWAY! YOUR BRAIN IS GOING TO MELT AWAY! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"
Anemone - Eureka Seven

I'm finally getting used to this body
Parakeet - Nichijou

Sorry, I stuttered
Hachikuji Mayoi - Bake/Nisemonogatari.

KILL ME KRAUSER SAMA!!
Fan - D.M.C.

Do you collect or just watch/read online.
Collect, I like to watch everything on the go on my iPod Video. :D

Do you have any memorabilia?
Yes, a pair of decorated chopsticks with a decorated rice plate, a necklace with a "secret chamber" with the sun kanji, some ¥'s, a Kokeshi doll, a Tamagotchi, 2 Chobits figurines and the release of PuyoPuyo Fever! (disc only) for the Dreamcast. =P

Do you have a favorite artist?
In music: Goto Mariko.
Mangaka: Kei Toume.

Do you approve of liva action adaptations?
Only if there are loyal to the source and if it takes some liberties, like the Phoenix Wrigh movie.

Anime with the best OST? (original soundtrack)
This is a hard one for me... I like the Eureka Seven OST, the and the FLCL too. :$

Tell us how you got into anime/manga.
I would go easy on this one an answer that thanks to Dragon Ball I got into this, but the real season I got into this were thanks to watch X and FLCL, about 6 years ago more or less.

Re: Anime/Manga

Post by BladedgeX on Tue Aug 28, 2012 12:51 am

What are you watching?
I don't really watch anime due to the fact my computer is pretty busted. But, I'm planning to watch a few with my gf after I get a new computer. But, I'm more of a reader anyways.

What are you reading?
I'm reading a few mainstream such as Naruto, One Piece, and Reborn! Although I'm lovin' God of Highschool, Akame ga Kiru!, Desert Punk, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (although I'm having trouble locating a good translation of Part 4)

What is you favorite Anime/Manga?
My favorite Mangas currently are One Piece, GTO, Ichi the Killer, and God of Highschool. As for the Animes I was able to watch, I'll say FMA: Brotherhood and Code Geass.

Any Manga/Anime are you excited about coming out?
None that I currently know about.

What are some of your favorite quotes?
The one that pops into my head is:

"Open up your asshole!" - Onizuka

Do you have any memorabilia?
I used to collect Mangas but, ever since the nearest bookstore closed I started readig online. That's all I collect Lol.

What is you favorite artist?
Hmm, well I'm really impressed with Oh Great!'s art. That's what got me hook on Air Gear.

I'm not really THAT big of an anime fan but I love the Artwork. But my first Anime was DragonBall Z and the some others that were aired on Toonami all the time. (Anyone remember that Grand Prix Anime?) But, what got me into actually watching Anime on the internet was Naruto. After a while I started watching others such as Bleach and so on. But then my computer started to act up so I decided to read Mangas as the alternative considering some are farther ahead than their animated counterpart. And after a while, I started to explore more about the Mangas available as I started reading Mangas they recommended such as Akame Ga Kiru! and Ichi the Killer. But yeah, I'm really in it for the Artwork. But, that doesn't mean I love a good story and humor.

I've been watching Rock Lee and his ninja pals on crunchyroll, it's pretty damn funny. Chibi Naruto characters, basically just gags the whole episode. People should check it out even if you don't care for the actual show.

Anime/Manga fans I know your out there so lets discuss it.
Very well then...

What are you watching? (Dub or Sub)
Both. I use to watch only the Dub, then only the sub. Then I realized i'm America, so now I watch them subbed and then dubbed when they are translated.

What are you reading? (manga or light novel)
Naruto, Kekkaishi, and others. Those two are the main ones right now,

What is you favorite anime/manga?

Digimon tamers is my favorite anime. It's my childhood. Wink Favorite Manga would be Naruto

What anime/manga are you excited about coming out?
None really that I know of.

What are some favorite quotes?
I wan't your body Sasuke - Orochimaru

Do you collect or just watch/read online.

Do plushies and video games count?

Do you have any memorabilia?
No.

Do you have a favorite artist?

I don't follow up on the artist's. I just read manga out of boredom.

Do you approve of live action adaptations?
lol no

Anime with the best OST? (original soundtrack)

Kekkaishi

Tell us how you got into anime/manga.
When I was in middle school as A kid I had A snow day one day. I was bored and turned on toonami for the first time in my life and it was showing A Naruto marathon. I decided to look it up and found out they were up the the chunin exam are in America and were getting ready to start Shippuden in japan. After that I decided to start following up with it and that's how I found out what both anime and manga was.

Re: Anime/Manga

Post by Count Mario on Tue Aug 28, 2012 6:58 pm

Here I go!

What are you watching?
Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins on Toonami. I rewatch FMA: Brotherhood sometimes.

What are you reading?
One Piece, Naruto (At this point, only so I could finish reading the whole story. It's quality has really declined as of late.), Berserk, and Bleach. (I'm at least planning to read the last two I mentioned, but I've watched MANY anime episodes of Bleach.)

What is you favorite anime/manga?
One Piece, HANDS DOWN.

What anime/manga are you excited about coming out?
Nothing that I'm interested in yet.

What are some favorite quotes?
Too many to count.

Do you collect or just watch/read online.
I read and watch online mainly, but when I see a Shonen Jump manga for sale in a store, I likely buy it.

Do you have any memorabilia?
Hidden Leaf headband, Itachi's headband, giant shrunken origami that my cousin made for me (really awesome), Nine Tails Chakra Naruto, a bunch of Naruto images on my wall, and an Akatsuki poster. ...Yeah, I used to be obsessed with the series when I was younger. I really want to look out for some One Piece merchandise though.

Do you have a favorite artist?
I've seen plenty of awesome art, but never really focused on remembering the names.

Do you approve of live action adaptations?
Only if there are loyal to the original source.

Anime with the best OST? (original soundtrack)
Oh, this is tough. I think I'll give this to Death note though. I ordinarily listen to most themes of the anime on YouTube.

Tell us how you got into anime/manga.
One word. TOONAMI. Ah, I love how I used to watch One Piece, Naruto, and Zatch Bell on Saturday nights. When I got a bit older, I loved watching Death Note, Code Geass, and Bleach on Adult Swim.

Eh, I thought the FI arc was decent. but it wasn't one of the nest, far from it. ANyways, I really like the PH arc so far. Pretty good reveal that it was the place where Aokiji and Akainu fought to become Fleet Admiral.
