Former Rare devs working on Banjo spiritual successor

It's called Project Ukulele for now, currently plans for 15 devs to make it, ideally for Wii U apparently.

So we're at least getting ONE Banjo game soonish.

Taking your own advice after mentioning it in the Syphon Filter topic eh? :p

That's some great news! Kinda bummed it's gonna be WiiU exclusive most likely but I guess it's only fair.

Actually, it was shit luck that I found this lol. I just happened to visit VGC and find that article. My stance on the genre stands firmly that it can't exist at retail price due to lack of desire - thankfully, this seems to me like it won't be above $20, which is what any reasonable Banjo-lengthen sequel would have to be nowadays.

Also, I highly doubt it'll end up being exclusive; if it goes to Kickstarter, it'll be at least on PC, and ifwhen it hits its stretch goals on next gen too. If it just goes onward, it'll still probably end up on PC unless Nintendo themselves funds it (which I doubt they'd do because Microsoft might try and sue over infringement, especially since the "real" Banjo Threeie is definitely happening now).

Why waste the money on a dead genre if somebody will do it for you?

(Plus, Nintendo would end up charging $40 for it. $20 too much.)

I thought Pirate showed me the Kickstarter but I can't seem to find it. Playtonic games is the studio, so their site will update accordingly when info shows up.
