Yeah, I haven't followed this game at all lol. I couldn't care less about Gen III for some reason.

I find your lack of faith in Gen III disturbing, DP.

It's probably due to his amazing love for Gen IV. :B That's where my love is, but I'm still looking forward to these games, as I only got to play bits and pieces of the originals in my childhood. Gen IV is still my favorite Gen though...

I don't do competitive battling, but I need to figure out a way to wreck Primal Groudon, because all my friends want Omega Ruby because they think for some reason, Groudon is cooler than Kyogre. They are very wrong and I need to put them in their place. :B

Huh? Gen IV love? I care for IV no more than I and II lol. Platinum was just the game that cured me of Pokerust (geddit?) after not having any interest in III and never having played II more than a bit. The only thing I'd say I love more than other gens about IV is HeartGold. Having never gotten to get a full playthrough of the original, it really made me love Gen II right up with the first one and fourth one. And then Black/White 1 happened and killed it all over again...

But yeah, I've had zero urge to play through Gen III. I should have SOME kind of urge but I just don't lol.

you need a special ground type that in turn is not hit be ground and fire moves well to "Wreck" Primal Groudon. as far as i know that doesn't exist. your best option is to pelt it with powerful dragon moves like Specs Draco from the Lati your gonna get (Your getting Sapphire so its Latias...not good) or a Rayquaza (Air Lock MIGHT still get rid of the weather we dunno.)

Yeah i know. Groudon too strong.

Pokemon like Hydreion, Garchomp (Purely for Speed) and the like would be your best bet. despite the neutrality, Grass Knot WILL hurt it, but thats tailoring, which is not good.

Trying to beat groudon with Kyogre is not a good idea anymore

So the TCG just launched on iOS, so I decided I'd get it on my PC. I'll let you guys know how average it is later today.

Interesting that the other two got primal forms but Rayquaza got "only" a Mega.

Also the TCG is quite fun, and somehow not pay to win. I'm impressed.

And no I've got no text issues on this page at least.

Re: Pokemon Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby Confirmed

Post by lpool1996moh on Thu Oct 02, 2014 4:18 pm

oh yeah text is gone.

The Mega Evolution is lore related.

Lore! LE SPOILERS!:
It was a primal age, early in the world's history... The natural world was overflowing with energy. That energy granted Groudon and Kyogre an overwhelming power. Seeking ever more of that energy for themselves, the two clashed again and again, and their battles cast the people and Pokémon of Hoenn into great danger. Brimming with the overwhelming power granted by the energy of nature, this transformation was named by later people "Primal Reversion." And the people called their tormentors Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre.

One Pokémon looked down upon this battle from the sky above. The Pokémon that dances in the heavens: Rayquaza. Rayquaza is venerated by the people of Hoenn as their protector and savior. When Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre had battled for 20 dawns and 20 nights, the world began to lose its natural balance and tilt toward destruction. The people, unable to endure any more, cried out to their mighty savior Rayquaza before a great stone that shone with rainbow brilliance. And a change came upon Rayquaza, weaving in the sky above Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. Suffused in brilliant light, its body began to transform visibly. And then...

So yeah.

It has a new ability called Delta Stream which creates a new weather effect that removes weather and makes moves of a type that Flying-type Pokémon are usually weak to will only deal normal damage to any Flying-type Pokémon in the battle. It lasts as long as Rayquaza is in battle

Dragon Ascent is said to be the most powerful Flying-type move

The reason why Mega Rayquaza is a Mega Evolution and not a Primal Reversion is to be explained in the story. It will also Mega Evolve through a way different to other Pokémon

again so yeah...get hype

also Rayquazas new design is cool. i like it alot.  Kyogres power markings faded away, Groudons bacame Lava but Rayquazas COME OUT OF ITS BODY! THEY BECOME FUCKING SOLID! AND THAT JAW! ITS A FUCKING BADASS NUTCRACKER.

I'd love to see Sugimori's art of Mega Rayquaza as soon as possible, because dat mix of emerald and black along with pretty much all of those aesthetics are just... Wow. I easily prefer this over another Primal form.

I wouldn't honestly say that. The Primal forms looked more like just recolors and didn't change the designs that much at all aesthetically. Rayquaza on the other hand got pimped out in and out.

COCO TIME

first Mega Pidgeot, Normal/Flying with No Guard

next Mega Beedrill, Bug/Poison with Adaptability

and the mage lats are finally shown along with the fact you can ride then in the over world and find Reshiram, Zekrom, Dialga & Palkia in the sky

the eon ticket is also back and The Legendary Pokémon are found on islands that can only be found through areas on the sky. You access the sky through the Eon Flute item

Gen IV remakes confirmed. (Not really but they might as well have with that kind of comment.) As a Gen IV fan I'm not a fan of the idea. You can fill in the dex no problem with just a 3DS now. The only reason you'd have to remake DP is to give me a cybernetic body is to avoid that God-awful Gen V transfer system. That said, Mt. Coronet in 3D is a prospect I really can't turn down.

Edit: Holy shit. Mega Latias/os let you fly. Like, not just Fly, but straight up FLY around the map to find secrets and shit.

I like Mega Steelix. Rock-->Metal-->Crystals. Mega Glalie is sort of unsettling, but that makes sense considering its Pokedex entry states that it freezes other Pokemon so it can eat them alive.

Also, yeah, Mega Latios / Latias are cool. I didn't think that's what they meant when they said you were going to fly around the map.

That right there is the reason Pokemon moved to 3D. Just took a few extra years for GameFreak to realize.

The above song is absolutely gorgeous. That flying pic looks positively enthralling beyond belief to the point here I am surprised I have not suffered a seizure from that image due to how incomprehensibly far the franchise has come. I'm totally going to start playing Pokemon again the day this comes out, and not even just for the nostalgia.
