I know what you mean.  An IGN commenter posted this and it's true.  I feel like Solid Snake in MGS4 when we started to realize his generation of soldier has ended.  Although, I was no where near old enough to be watching Ultimate Warrior in his prime.  Wasn't even alive for that, haha.

"Damnit. Totally selfish but I'll say it anyways, Warrior going really is bringing home my own feeling of mortality. That dude was larger than life in every meaning of the phrase.

I'm so glad he was able to come home and be welcomed before he left. Time to bring it home, baby. RIP Warrior."

Yeah man, hopefully he passed away happy.

It's creepy though because his promo about his heart stopping its beat and stuff was waaaay too much of a coincidence! =/

Yeah, I hope so too.

I know what you mean, it is creepy.

First the end of the streak and now this.  I guess our era of wrestling is over.  Also, I feel old now because wrestlers are starting to be our age now, example being Paige.

I think the era of "our wrestling" (in quotes because I was a bit too young/showed up right at the end of the attitude era right after the brand extension - think end of American Bad Ass Taker) ended back a few years ago. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just bittersweet to me.

For me it ended in three seconds, 21-1.  Because, I grew up with the streak.

The only reason I still watch is because I love what they're doing with The Shield and Paige. :P

I know!  I loved when they came out on Raw and attacked Triple H and Evolution!  Some awesome stuff going on. :)

Undertaker is still my all-time favorite wrestler - has been since I first saw him ride down the ramp a motorcycle on Smackdown for a triple threat match with Cena and Big Show. But he's always wanted the Streak to end. He reportedly chose Lesnar to end it. I can't complain if he wanted to end it himself. Nobody is bigger than the industry; Taker held that rule more to heart than Vince himself when it comes to the Streak. Michaels retiring is what truly set me into the mindset of "it's never gonna be the old days again, so let's look forward to what the new era brings." We have one active Superstar from the first Raw now, and he just out over the biggest face in the WWE right now. The Old Guard is gone.

But we have Daniel Bryan, the Shield, the Wyatts (though I believe the writers will fuck them up somehow after the inevitable split), Orton for at least a few years more, Ziggler, Sheamus, a good tag division for the first time in a decade. The future is bright, if we keep our eyes peeled for the light staring us in the face.

The real tragedy here is Warrior dying, though, not the Streak or arbitrary end of an era. I just hope he was at peace after coming back and making things good with WWE.

Now what DP said, it sucks that Ultimate Warrior passed away after finally burying the hatchet with the WWE.
