The patch delay is likely Sony telling them not to worry about it and focus on their unnamed project since Sony doesn't support All-Stars anymore.

Sony realizes the backlash the PSAS fanbase can give them, so this patch WILL be out. When? Who knows, SSM has put it on another studio since day one to avoid the burden, so we have no idea of development speed with the unnamed dev.

I get what you mean, but the backlash of 1,500 fans is no where near the 1,500,000 that criticized the game's very existence. I'm personally not happy with the game, but I think what happened is that Sony allowed popular opinion to dictate the game before they released of its big hitting content. I think if Sony could go back before it was announced as "Title Fight" and do it all over again. I strongly believe that Sony would have held off until the PlayStation 4 and dropped a some more hints that were a bit more than subtle and did some more shopping around for developers with collective experience as a team on fighting games. Instead of doing what they did and placing this much weight on a brand new studio.

At first I didn't agree but Anaconda does bring up a good point here.

I had a comment but it got deleted before I posted. Those that criticized it, to summarize, mostly didn't touch the game, and many didn't even own a Sony console. I cant quantify that, of course, but we all can agree that a large portion if it was angry Smash fans.

And the PSAS fanbase is almost cult at this point. Messing with a dedicated fanbase, one that pestered SSM, Sony, and Yoshida for over a straight month, is nowhere near as intelligent as ignoring the opinions of a group that was never inclined to play the game in the first place.

True….

All those campaigns annoyed the hell out of SSM and Sony!
