Saddest Movie Moments

Post by Count Mario on Wed Oct 30, 2013 11:48 pm

Allow me to start. I recently finished reading (well, I technically didn't finish because I was too lazy to read the last thirty out of one-hundred chapters of the book) Life of Pi. I'll be honest, I found i boring as fuck (hell, the main premise of the book isn't even met until over a third of the way in due to so much unnecessary backstory provided before that happens. And even though there are several moments of progress and interest when Pi does finally get on the boat, there are plenty of average and wasteful chapters that just make the book tedious. Honestly, I only think it was that long just because Yann Martel was that desperate for specifically wanting one-hundred chapters. The book definitely has potential and I'm glad that it got adapted and I've enjoyed plenty of novels before, but by God, this book has the worst pacing I have ever seen in my life.

However, as for the movie, needless to say, it was obviously MUCH more improved length-wise. As for the quality... Watch this scene and tell me what you think.

I'm not much of a movie guy, and to be honest with you I've never actually seen the film, but Up's introduction with the story of the old man hits my feels like a nuke.

I watch Up. Easily one of my favorite animated movies of all time. You should definitely watch the rest of it.

The ending to Jack Frost (The one with the father and son. Not the serial killer)
