Imo, I disagree that Megaman takes no challenge. It definitely takes some skill and trial and error as you progress thru the game. Especially, the Battle Network series which is such a great experience especially in later installments. Choosing and using the right battle chips for the right opponent for the right time and all that other good stuff that appears later on in the game like Double Souls and a Karma System in battle. Not to mention the the difficulty of the Undernet. Going there without being prepared for the worse is a death sentence.

I'm not much into it's platforming counterparts even though I did enjoy playing X4 and the ZX series. But they were pretty hard especially it's final stages. I can't do Boss Rush unless I am very well prepared in which most cases I am not. You had to do a lot of searching for the most part to get the gear and Tanks to advance. The only game I have completed from any of the platforming games was ZX2. In any case, the games did require some thought as rushing would pretty much be your death sentence unless you're confident in your knowledge and abilities.

As for QTEs, I'm pretty much fine with them as long as the visuals are worth watching and smashing for. Which is why Asura's Wrath has such satisfying QTEs.

no it didn't

Heavy Rains awards.

Red Dead (Notice Game of the Decade)

Arkham

Wikipedia wrote:Super Mario Galaxy 2 has received Game of the Year 2010 awards from Nintendo Power, GamesMaster, Official Nintendo Magazine, Edge, GamesTM,Destructoid and Metacritic. It was named best "Wii Game of the Year" by IGN, GameTrailers, GameSpot, 1UP.com, and many other media outlets. As of December 2010, IGN awarded Super Mario Galaxy 2 the number 1 Wii game, overtaking its predecessor. And on top of that, in 2012, Official Nintendo Magazine had named Super Mario Galaxy 2 the 'Greatest Nintendo Game Ever Made' ranking at #1.
7 for The Plumber

And Mass Effect 2. Say what yu will about wikipedia but they don't get this shit wrong. thats a Landslide and not in Heavy Rains favour.

Firstly *Quantic secondly i think i proved that its not deep in gameplay and with the exception of Mario the games above have far better stories. and functioning good gameplay. I mean Red Dead is a huge open world in a very little explored Area, Mass Effect one of the Best RPGs ever and Batman having one of the best and most powerful combo systems ever. Heavy Rain had QTEs. Unresponsive, intrusive constant QTEs.

Princess gets kidnapped, save the princes. So good. Anyway, in the case of Heavy Rain you can't take those awards serious because awards have become popularity contests. As Mass Effect 2 was highly overrated.

Good i did i'm not imagining things

Secondly your going to just disregard an entire year of awards just cause it doesn't line up with your views? and they are not popularity contests, if they Were Journey and TWD would not have won as much as they did. they weren't as popular as you think.

Because Mario's totally about the story. (lpool, just so you know, if you're looking for a Mario game that's won a bunch of rewards, check out SMG1 instead of 2. Just Saiyan).

GUYS. BACK TO THE MAIN FREAKING TOPIC, PWEASE.

They popularity contests and those two games won because they were the most popular. I tend to avoid the awards due to the fact they're mainly popularity contest. I mean, Skyrim beating Uncharted 3? GTA: San Andreas beat MGS3: Snake Eater? And, above all GTA4 beating MGS4? If GTA4 beating MGS4 isn't a clear sign of awards being a popularity contest, I don't know what is.

(I know that it came out before 2010, but I'm just Saiyan)

So... I'm sort of hoping that since Mega Man and Roll were ripped-off used as inspiration for Beck and Call, hopefully we can see a character based off of this guy.

EDIT: lpool, don't you fucking do it...

doing it.

Skyrim Beating UC3. Yes thats correct. looking back on it both aren't as good as they were made out but Skyrim is Certainly the better game.  San Andreas Vs MGS3 isn't even a question. San Andreas All the way. the game was revolutionary for open world. And GTA 4 v MGS 4.....well Gta was a game and not cutscenes. and a much better technical feat.

Protoman Rip off in mighty? sure why not?

Re: Meet Mighty No. 9! A.k.a. Mega Man's re-incarnation

Post by DP on Sat Sep 28, 2013 8:16 pm

Exclusive games don't win GAME of the Year awards unless they are the best games of the decade, because exclusivity means less people can enjoy them and there is less work going into making sure the game runs correctly (since it's not on 360, in the case of pretty much every exclusive nominee). MGS4 and 3, Last of Us, Uncharted 1 and 3, and Heavy Rain all lost (Last of Us pending, I guess) due in part to this; Uncharted 2 winning most magazines'/reviewers' awards shows how much it did for cinematic shooters. Which brings me to the popularity contest thing: Spike, yes, that's a popularity contest. But most other magazines never take fans into account (GI counts the fans separately in award issues).

That is the last time I'm going off topic, and the last time anyone else is in this thread. Don't try me, either of you. New thread if you're gonna keep talking. You can call it Hairy pooPoobutt for all I care.

That's true, and if a 200 man Naughty Dog team could've made the same game available to 360 owners they might've had a slightly better shot because it's more impressive on two consoles than one.

Anyway that topic is done. What's the Kickstarter at?

I don't think what console a game is on should matter at all in deciding. That's just being biased to 3rd-party games and not giving a chance to exclusives. The exclusive market isn't what it used to be because of these biased award givers being biased towards the third-party market. I personally support an exclusive based business motto with my works.

Okay, I've unintentionally egged the discussion on so I'll end it with this:
THE NEXT PERSON WHO GOES OFF OF THE SUBJECT OF MIGHTY NO. 9, ITS RELATION TO MEGA-MAN, OR ANYTHING DIRECTLY RELATED TO THESE THINGS IS GETTING THROWN DOWN TO A SINGLE AP BAR.

And the staff shall be the ones with the discretion of what is/isn't directly related, so watch it. Everyone.

I think it's going to. If I know anything about these Kickstarter and Indiegogo things, it's that the most amount of money pledged comes in at the beginning and end of the time needed.
