Not a total surprise. It's been a year, almost, and consoles get price drops all the time. The 3DS was, what?, five months out and absolutely bombing before its drop, and Nintendo started up Ambassador to be nice to those ten people that got 3DSes at launch.

I think that this something the the Wii U absolutely needs right now aside from a price drop and more games and better 3rd party support.

not really that big of a deal sure the 3ds one was nice but as someone who bought the console early i can say the market is unpredictable i mean i buy games all the time for them to go on sale the next day
its just buyers remorse i dont understand how people would make a big deal out of this

Not really Anaconda. people won't pick up the Wii u for the ambassador program cause they don't have access to it. They are doing all they can to ship it. Games are coming, price cut. And honestly minus 50 after a year. No big as dp said happens all the time.

So, a console in the slumps that could use something like that doesn't need it?

Thanks to dragon's avi and Pool's signature, I don't take that serious.

i knew the 3ds one was a bad idea now whenever Nintendo gets a price cut people are gonna bitch and complain about not having an ambassador program they decided to be nice and do something they DIDNT HAVE TO DO (i dont see M$ or sony doing ambassador programs for price drops) and instead of people being appreciative  people are total assholes
fucking a both sides of this damn gaming industry are fucking horrible

Well, looking at their pre-order numbers, they don't need something like this. Although, the XOne needs a price drop. I think the point of your argument is you're saying that the Wii U is competition for the PS4 and XOne.

as you clearly don't know what the ambassador program is I'll enlighten you. It gifts free classic games to people who bought the 3ds before the huge 100 dollar cut after 6 months. The Wii u doesn't have that problem. What's the point of giving people who own your console free stuff. It is not available to those who didn't buy pre cut. It will not attract more sales. They cu the price and games are on the way. There's literally nothing more they can do.

the 3ds is the first and only console to do this and had it not happened this wouldn't be a discussion. The Wii u is failing hard but not yr1 3ds hard. Dragon got it spot on. They did something unnecessary to thank their loyal fans who bought a system that was horrible and overpriced at launch. now its expected. I guarantee the other two will cut in a year and this won't be brought up. The vita got cut and wasn't brought up. Hardly fair. and I want you to explain what about an ambassador program tlou think would attract new buyers.

You're thinking, thats the problem here. When you think on a Nintendo subject, they can somehow do no right. Ambassador doesn't affect post-drop sales in any way. It physically cannot.

And if you're going to argue that the Wii U needs a goodwill gesture like that, then you should have no problem saying the Vita should have one too. That's how any unbiased debator would handle it, at least.

Trust me if they do something wrong I call em out Cause I'm unbiased (except towards Microsoft I hate them with a passion since the drm shit.) But there is literally nothing wrong with this at all.

My opinion is usually based statistics, and being the Wii U has only sold 3.6 million units and continually loses support. So, statistically speaking the Wii U is in terrible shape.

And this would help how exactly? This in particular will not save the wii u. And that's pretty much what we are trying to get across. That and that they shouldn't be scrutinized for it when the vita wasn't. But Honestly if you can pose an argument about how statistically speaking an ambassador program would draw in sales go ahead.

Can you compare the Wii U to the PS3 though? From a software aspect, yes. But, for the most part I don't think you can get any worse than the PS3 in its first year. Not even the Wii U can do that bad, but even when it starts to get some of those games out. Smash and the other games. Of all those titles coming out in the line-up, Smash is the only real console seller from what I remember.

To do that, you have to put in the aspect of a casual gamer.

Ok. What? I mean what. How does that change anything. Nintendo are laughing stocks amongst a lot of casual gamers after Wii they really don't count.

and your right the wii u and ps3 are incomparable. The ps3 was the most powerful on the market its competition was there it had targets to beat. The wii u is royally fucked as its in the opposite position. or it would be if it wasn't for smash Zelda and the hd pokemon teased at pokemon gameshow.

That was true to the Wii, but the casual market these days wants Call of Duty, Battlefield, or Titanfall. The Wii U only has one of those three and even then, Wii U is where CoD will sale the worst.
