Now THIS changes the game big-time for Sony. I can almost see Now kind of working decently for some people with 15+mbps with this in mind, as opposed to having to have 100+mbps with fiber optic cables.

I'm not sure what this means.  Also, they already announced that PlayStation Now just the internet service works at 5mbps.  You don't need 100mpbs and fiber optics.

Bullshit. I major in this stuff, and NEVER will a service involving the streaming of PS3 games work at that speed. The sending and receiving of data alone can cause 5mbps to fail with just video streaming; now account for every single process that has to run simultaneously in a game. The input lag would be so horrendous that the only game you could even touch on PS3 would be chess. And this is in a confined scenario without somebody else using wifi to watch Netflix or YouTube or something, effectively cutting the throughput in half.

But the availability of THIS processing chip narrows the chances of a catastrophic launch failure drastically because it makes everything so much more efficient (and possibly opens up two or more PS3s per person playing PS3 games, which would allow for a pseudo-multicore experience where both chips pass off certain pieces of data to one another, halving the input lag. But Sony would be violating every fundamental law of computing if it could really work at 5mbps outside of a CES room.

I know the feel, Dragon. N64, Wii U, formerly a 360 before I moved it to the living room, and PS3. To me though, I don't mind having them all out just yet. If I add a few more, I probably will lol, but I tend to binge game on a console for a while before going to another of the set.

Why did Dualshockers do four articles on one subject? That's bigger news than the PS4 being a hit in...anywhere really.
