Here are the details on what to really expect from the multiplayer. As long as the single player is still amazing, I don't mind the multiplayer being alongside it.

Watch the Wii U still be charged for full price.

Seriously, it's things like this that make me wonder why some companies even bother to port games...

Let's just hope that the second part of that is untrue, where you can also play as Killer Croc and Red Hood and shit...

at least it would make it more diverse. but its broken as is. and how could you be red hood. that is clearly not Tim drakes robin! which means thats Either Dick Grayson (Similar face so its likely) or that Robin IS Red Hood........which could be the emotional back bone of the campaign. The Crowbar.

I don't see why playing as a cannibalistic alligator-man would be bad. If I get to chomp people's crotches off on screen, this gets Game of the Year.

Speaking of Red Hood, you think he'll be one of the assassins?

EDIT: And I don't know who you're talking about lpool, but that's Tim Drake.

Well, this was part of the same post that basically confirmed multiplayer in the game a while ago...

We have to remember that this is just multiplayer though. Not to mention that Tim could have obviously changed over the years (hence why he's arguably even in his Red Hood persona in Arkham City). If this Robin appears in the main story (in which I personally doubt Robin will appear due to Bruce being a newbie and just getting introduced to "super" villains by this time. Speaking of that, I don't even know why I brought up the possibility of Red Hood) though, he'd definitely be Dick. Hell, for all we know, he could just be called. "Robin", if he only appears in multiplayer.

True, but I'm just saying. It could happen. If it's just in multiplayer, then they don't really need to specify which person it is due to not being canon.

Re: Batman: Arkham Origins

Post by god-of-paradise on Wed Jul 31, 2013 10:28 pm

After reading about it the multiplayer some more on the official playstation blog, it isn't sounding so terribly bad. Before I begin, the multiplayer is being created by a separate team so now we can breathe a sigh of relief that the single player will not be suffering (at least not due to time taken away to create multiplayer).

Let's look the positives... It's going to add a lot of variety to the game, even if its just for a little burst of mindless fun. I loved everything about the arkham games. I believe arkham asylum is one of the few games I even have platinumed. The challenge maps were the original and only form of player interactivity and lets face it, even though they were interesting little challenges to test your skills, they aren't adding any more variety to the game than bioshock infinite's clash in the clouds dlc does.

Yes, the multiplayer mode (so far announced) is going to be a traditional deathmatch/capture mode from the looks of it, but it twists it. Without the addition of batman and robin, you have a 3v3 cover based shooter game with batman characters. Hopefully though with the 2 heroes, fear will play a part in the fray. Staying close to teammates to everywhere possible that the batman could be, but at the same time, keeping an eye out for the other gang. This will hopefully force you (both the heroes and the villains) to work as a team to win rather than hoping to get a ten kill streak while your team is afk...

I am imagining a silent predator challenge map style arena with all of the scaffoldings, grates, explosive walls brought into a 3 team multiplayer arena. Remember how powerful Batman was in those areas with all of the different gadgets? How does that not sound at least a little fun to be able to use them on real players, to outsmart people rather than AI. I have faith in the team that is developing it to keep the gameplay as smooth as the singleplayer

EDIT: oh yeah, and the ps blog confirmed it is Tim Drake (not that I have any idea who he is lol I am just settling your boy wonder debate)

Re: Batman: Arkham Origins

... i feel disappointed with this game. The story cutscenes have a very epic feel to it, but quite honestly.. as much as I love the free flow combat and predator gameplay from the first games, this feels lackluster.

the same thing with very minor changes (few new enemy types with different tactics). I don't know.. I just feel let down. I might actually try and sell it and just buy it when the price goes down a bit. ( I couldn't even get into multiplayer)

I do love playing as deathstroke though. even though his combat is very similar, its fun seeing new animations rather than the same ones batman has had in his two previous games

If you already own it, might as well just keep at this point. There's no point in rebuying the same disappointing game and you don't get what you fully payed for it back.

I want to see how the story plays out very badly but the epic moments feel very spread out and a lot of the same stuff that I have done multiple times in the other games are what is placed in between.. I have already faced two assassins and they were pretty spectacular but I don't think I can get into it as much as I used to. (same thing sorta happened with bioshock infinite)

if I can get it for 50 dollars, I would fine with it.

I'd beat it then judge it. With these games, you give em a lot of time, beat it, judge it at the end.
