Re: Ratchet & Clank Discussion

So, I'll post the link when I get home, but the Trophy List for Deadlocked was leaked yesterday. 31 Trophies, mostly easy (barring getting all skill points), and none for maxing out nanotech/weapons to level 99/getting all the Exterminator Cards. Most of them are just "Get X Skill Point on X Planet," which would be disappointing if not for the fact that I'm getting it free and thus cannot complain. I mean, I never actually 100%'d Deadlocked, as I've noted before, and now I'll have a chance to redeem my 99% file that I overwrote by accident.

I wish they would release a collection of the PS3 games like they've done for God of War, Infamous etc...

I played ACiT when it came out and it was very good.

I'm surprised they haven't, frankly. They could've gotten some good sales off of making a disc-based QfB for the US alone. I know I'd get the R&C PS3 Collection if that came with it. Then again, they have five PS3 games now, so maybe it makes sense that R&C didn't get one since they only started doing PS3's collections recently.

Edit: I really forgot how much I love FFA's multiplayer component. I just got done playing a few matches, and damn is it good. If there were more people online, it'd be much better, but even with the <100 people on per day it's one of the most unique and intuitive multiplayers out there.

Re: Ratchet & Clank Discussion

Post by DP on Sun May 12, 2013 5:28 pm

So I just had an R&C-related idea. Why don't we try to list, in order, our favorite artsyles of the series thus far? The options are Original, ToD/QfB, CiT, and A4O, although you could very well extend that with DL and by splitting Original from GC/UYA. I think my order goes like this:

1. CiT. Still to this day one of the most beautiful games in existence IMO.
2. A4O. Okay, don't skin me here, but the A4O artstyle has really grown on me as of late (see my Avatar). Now some people call it too kiddie or whatever, but when you look at the concept art for all of the R&C games, A4O's style fits them most.
3. Original. Although I'm not that big a fan of the original R&C outfit itself, this artstyle (in GC/UYA/most notably DL) is preferable to the ToD/QfB one because for some reason Ratchet's head just looks...odd in ToD to me.
4. ToD/QfB. See above.

Also, while we're here, we could also rate his actual outfits, meaning Old School, GC/UYA Armor, DL Armor, ToD/A4O/FFA Armor, QfB Armor(split from QfB because this one is slightly different and better IMO), and CiT armor. I won't start that one up myself, though, because that's a bit tough for me to pick!

Honestly, my list would be the EXACT same thing for the exact same reasons (barring the ToD/QfB complaint). Although I need to play the Future trilogy to really solidify my choice though.

Anyways:
ToD/A4O/FFA comes first just because I always prefer default costumes lol. Next would be CiT, then GC/UYA, afterwards DL, and finally QfB. It was a bit tough picking though.

I could elaborate on my reasoning for 3 and 4 more, because ToD looked like an early PS3 game (meaning good at the time, but not much better than PS2), while Deadlocked looked like a REALLY damn good PS2 game (which would look like a 2009 PS3 game had it been made for PS3, if you know what I mean), but I'd rather stick with my "Ratchet looks like he got stung by a bunch of bees" reasoning lol.

Monolith Fields? FUCK YES. That makes total sense since that's what FFA was based off of. 2v2 FFA sounds somewhat interesting but I don't really feel too intrigued by it just yet. Thank god they didn't do 1v1 FFA though because that would've been bumrush city. I'm just glad the Vita players get FFA now; remember everyone, three people work at Tin Giant, so that's why it took so long to port.

The only thing I'm not 100% happy about is that DLHD somehow isn't done yet. It took them six months to make the first three (albeit the quality was somewhat shoddy because Sony pushed the release date up three months), and it's been longer than that for this one. I hope that means it's quality as fuck. Then again, they're not releasing it early so that is also a good thing, even if it's not on time for FFA Vita like it was supposed to be. Either way, it's free for us, so I can't complain!

Also, toldja FFA's support wasn't done, lpool.

Monolith is where azimuth first appeared. Your thinking of krell canyon (nerd powers go!) And of course the heavy influence from uya ranger missions and deadlocked is there.

Anyway yeah you were right. for all unconcerned maybe pasbr isn't dead either.

and imo 2v2 ffa sounds really good. One on constant offence one defence. Imo its what the game shoulda been from the start.

Oh, shit, my bad lol. Those are the only two CiT areas I get mixed up, to be fair to myself. Had I played the game more than two or three times so far I'm sure I would've remembered the difference.

Either way, they've also said that the support's not done for FFA. More maps and modes are coming soon, especially after the Vita version is out.

Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6hfxndSvxg
Also, we both dun fucked up. It's Molonoth Fields. I called it Monolith lol. Double whammy on me >.>

........fuck. my bad still its spelling error. i knew which one it was.

i played it. its definitely the most diverse of em all (i told you all this earlier this is for lurkers)

its like FF13 in away. lots of hallways centralizing PvP. also makes lag hopefully a non factor and breaks the sonic eruptor.

its also very vertical. as you progress through the map you will jump between levels quite often.

grindrails are the main method of transport behind walking. like in CiT they are EVERYWHERE! in fact i saw one hooverboot ramp. 1! couple of meteor pads too. also a couple of jumps in main navigation that drop to bottomless pits but you can glide to safety should you fall but you will cost your team a node against anybody good.

haven't tried FFA mode yet. will have too soon.

There are several jump pads. In my few minutes exploring Molonoth, I found three or four. But still, your point remains.

How is Full Frontal Assault? I'm thinking about buying...

Post by Thirty3Three on Tue May 21, 2013 5:07 pm

It's 20 bucks on the Vita store, and it (should.....) come with Ratchet: Deadlocked.

For those who have it for the Vita, or even the PS3, how do you like it, what would you rate it?

Buying the Vita version doesn't give you DLHD free. It's buying the PS3 version that does that. At least that's what they've said. Not sure if it works the other way.

And dead-ish means that you can be searching for a game for a few minutes sometimes. It's actually pretty active if you know when to search for matches, and will be more so now that the Vita version's out and that they've confirmed more free DLC.

Edit: I merged this with the R&C General, btw.
