Attention artists!

Post by DP on Thu Dec 20, 2012 7:16 pm

Since both myself and my friend are terrible in the art department, I thought it'd be a good idea to see if anybody here would be willing to help out. We are currently working on an amateur project for our computer programming class, creating a gladiator/arena fighting type game. We need about three different top-down sprites (32x32 pixels), one for the main gladiator, one for an enemy with a club or equivalent, and a third for an archer enemy, all of which would preferably have a few different animations so that they could swing their sword/run/pull back their bow, etc. (although if given a decent basis I could do that myself). If anybody is willing, let me know via PM or here. If nobody is willing, I can probably manage them myself, but I know people here could easily do it better.

Also, if this does develop more, we are considering porting it and turning it from an XNA computer game to an Xbox Live Indie Game (in which case any contributors would receive a spot in the credits and/or compensation). However, this would likely be VERY far off, and even then, it's up in the air right now, so that'd be something I'd elaborate on more if I needed "better" and/or more sprites to make it look better as an indie game. Right now the sprites can be ugly, so long as they work (we literally just have a triangle in place of both the player and enemies).

What exactly do you need in terms of animations?

Ideally, I need one base stance for each, one or two frames of attack for each, and a movement animation (preferably with an attack while moving one, but that's unnecessary for the early builds we're showing our teacher). Really it's up to whoever is willing as to how much they want to contribute; I won't be picky with what I get, so a simple standing there sprite would even suffice (I could probably work on the animation myself if given a model, as I think I said earlier, but I suck at starting from scratch at this point).
