The more I see of the game, it manages to convince me that there's hope for this game. Given it's potential of being a fun game it's not hard to see why. I'm so glad that they're putting the open-world and much more back in, Final Fantasy starting with, FFXIV: ARR.

Kind of awkward that they would make you pay for this.  Not much complaint though since it's free for two weeks and I have no interest in the feature.  Although, I will likely download it anyway because I want the option.  Your thoughts on this, DLC?  Although, downloading it is granted if I have a PS3 by the time this game comes out.

That's an admirable addition. Especially since it's free for at least a little while. I mean, I'd never use it but I recall fans being mad after XIII-1 (and 2?) didn't even give the option. Which was worse on Xbox because they're region locked.

Re: Lightning Returns Discussion

I was actually a bit worried that this game would be strictly 1v1. But I guess that was relieved when I got jumped by a dude from behind. Cause I found it odd that the first three enemies that were clunked together weren't fought at once. But I guess that was only a tutorial thing to get you used to the controls. Lol

Also, the combat isn't crazy fast like the Tales Of games (although it definitely reminds me of that a bit) but it is pretty solid. I'm hoping enemies give a decent challenge as well. So anyways, from what I know:

You can block while in a attack string.
Enemies have certain weak spots to exploit ala Monster Hunter.
You can continue a combo string by changing costumes to give out massive damage.
You can zoom out the camera in battle by pressing R3. Useful for multiple enemies.
Enemies respawn after awhile.
There's a stamina gauge during open world play. It depletes while running.
You can switch targets by using the d-pad.
You can have Lightning be a furry with cat ears and a tail.
Lightning can climb up ladders hella fast.
Hope talks a lot.

Sounds pretty good aside from, Hope talking a lot.  Although, it would probably be no different from, Navi in Ocarina of Time and that game is still really good.

HEY LISTEN! HEY LISTEN! HEY LISTEN!

I also forgot to mention your health does not regenerate back after a battle. Also, choosing which costume before a boss fight is important. I decided to change one costume in to try them all and I had a harder time beating him on my second try.

Additionally, you can cancel cool time by using guard. However, it depletes the ATB gauge a bit quicker.

I personally already knew about the non-regenerating health, but the rest is really interesting.

Re: Lightning Returns Discussion

And I keep learning more things! Lol

The dragoon costume is a ATB eater. It consumes it extremely quickly. I just press two buttons and boom, my gauge was gone. I haven't used it against the boss yet but I'm assuming it does a great deal of damage and status ailments in trade for greater consumption.

There are also costumes that can also do a back step rather than guarding. I'm gonna see if I can do something with that. There's a good amount of stuff given to you in this demo to play around with in terms of strategy and tech.

Fun :D lol

Anyway, it's good to know that Square-Enix is starting to make good games again because the demo sounds good so far.  I would assume that the full game will likely be better and probably cut down on some of the, Hope chatter if fans request it.  The only thing I can think of that, Square had done wrong this year is making the core-mechanic of a 3DS title a microtransaction.  I can't remember the name of the title though.

Alright, Dragoon costume has the power to launch enemies into the air and knocks them down. This is especially useful for dragons as their weak points are their heads. You can then use the remainder of the ATB gauge to Knockout/Stagger them. Dragoon costume also has the power to absorb enemy HP in order to recover. Dragoon even has a counter rather than a dodge roll or a block.

You can dodge roll in 4 different directions. Dodging also has the same effect in canceling recovery. You can use this to get out of area of effect attacks easily.

Additionally, you can use potions by pressing the start button during battle.

The boss in the demo actually keeps respawning if you don't leave the demo. Lol

Ok, I gotta get this out, Snow reminds me of Riku in this game. The hairstyle, the darkness, the coat, the void of transportation, ect. I read that Snow is on the verge on turning into a Cieth. Ain't dat some shit.
