Show Us Your Desktop!

Post by Kiwi on Tue Dec 11, 2012 11:05 am

So yeah.
Just take a screencap of your desktop, and post it here! Whenever you get a cool new background or organize your files in a cool way and wanna show it off, post it here!

I will start.

It's so barren because I upgraded to Windows 7 (I would've done 8, but it was less of a hassle transferring stuff from XP to 7, so I'm gonna do 8 in a year or two, barring 9 launching); I've barely touched anything up yet! I'll be sure to update when I do, though.

I've seen 8, and it's not as bad as I expected after they dodged around the actual OS and kept showing off Metro. It's just Windows 7 that watches your activity and doesn't have a start menu.

I switch my desktop background pretty much all of the time on random occasions. But this is my current one so far:

I know it's not technically my desktop since it's just the background image, but trust me, the only difference is that there's a folder on the upper left corner that says "My Stuff" which has even more folders inside containing my documents, music, images, etc.

I hate cluttering on my desktop, but these are mine:

Mac OS X:

Windows 7 (same computer as Mac OS X, also I'm a Miku Fan):

Windows 2K (I can't customize it as I would wish, but oh well...)

I use all of those OS, Mac as my main for school, work and design stuff, Windows 7 for compatibility with 3D stuff like 3D Studio Max and Windows 2K for retro-Gamig compatibility (Age of Empires II, Commandos, etc) and because is the only laptop that I have that has a serial printer port to use it on a vinyl cutter printer (also I wanted to install on it a Windows 2K in japanese but oh well...).

I also own a desktop computer with Windows '98 and another with XP, but they aren't working right now, so I can't post those desktops. worry

...how do I take a snap shot of my desktop? O.O I have a Windows 7 HP if that helps. I've wondered how to do this forever now and never learned how lol.

Print Screen button, Trey-Caige. Right above F11 on most laptops, if I'm not mistaken. And if you ever want to take a screenshot of just a highlighted window, you can Alt+Print Screen.

Lol. Thanks man. Found the button. It says - home (prt sc) - [since there is no print screen above my F11) So far... it does nothing o.o

Oh yeah, I forgot the second half of the work. lol that was bad on my part.

Once you press print screen, you have to then go into some photo-editing program, such as Paint, and then Ctrl+V. Then it'll paste the picture into that program.

Or you can use the Snipping Tool that came with windows 7 (just search for it as Snipping Tool in the search tab in the start menu), it has a feature that let you save the transparency of the windows, and to save the captures (fullscreen, window, selection) right where you want them. :D!

I figured I'd bring this thread back since I found a really nice background that I just switched to:

Fun fact: That's a concept render and not in-game footage. You can tell from the lack of particle effects (instead they're drawn in a semi-cel-shaded style like CiT had).
