No, I liked pretty much nothing about SR3, Zombie Island included.

to me DmC was an average H&S it would have been intresting as its own IP (funny thing is change around 3 or 4 names and noone would realise its a reboot) but as it is its a giant step down from the mechanics of 4 (no lock on, no styles, terrible AI, way too easy, 30Fps instead of 60) the most ironic thing about it is it it was its own IP it might have sold better instead they antagonized and taunted the fans and paid the price with terrible sales
and yeah MGR was far superior
is it really close minded to want the more recent game to have better mechanics?

Well as far as I remember MGR was about the same in terms of sales (~1.4 million for MGR to DmC's ~1). Hack and Slash games just weren't popular in 2013; I'm sure DmC would've been a bigger success in a less-packed year. But it's been a trend as of late that Hack and Slash games have dropped significantly.

I've yet to play MGR, I've been wanting to and I know it's going to come out on Plus sooner or later so I'm waiting lol. I can't buy games anymore cause my PS3's on life support and doesn't read discs. I have the original 80GB so it's still fighting to live on haha.

Yeah I noticed that lol It could have been it's own game! xD
Still it was a great reboot and I prefer games without a lock on because it makes things a bit harder when it comes to this genre since you have to keep an eye on where the enemy is at all times instead of just locking on and automatically knowing where the enemy is.
I loved the story, characters and art style.
The boss levels are some of the coolest levels I've ever seen and I loved the new take on a whole bunch of concepts they did!

I thought the mechanics were pretty good and the AI wast as bad as people made it out to be but from what I played in the MGR demo the mechanics are far superior.

I'm sorry though but the majority of the DMC fan base are dicks too, they didn't even give it a chance and I loved the fact that Ninja Theory fucked with the fans. Still from a professional standpoint and a business one, it wasn't smart lol. Btw when I meant close minded I meant the people who didn't even try the game because Dante didn't have white hair or because it wasn't DMC 5 instead of the reboot lol. It's totally fine to play it and not like it but not even give it a try and say it's bad is another story.

I've always loved hack and slash games so it was a great year for me, I just didn't get to play any of them lol

actually the reason lock on is necesary in H&S games is because it allows directional imputs for example in psas there are 4 attacks for each button
with a third peraon camera it allows 5 attacks for each button try out dmc3 or 4 and youll know what i mean it gives far more attack variety

i really love hack n slashes too but im really picky when it comes to them hahaha i was spoiled by bayo and DMC 3/4 XD
if you ever get a wiiu try out wonderful 101 its quite an intresting twist for H&S's

I've gotta pick up W101 eventually. Once I catch up on my PS3 collection I'll hop on that.

This week's free US games, Remember Me and Street Fighter X Tekken. So you can lame it out while you look at a dead developer's ugly child!  derp

Though, I will say, this month is very interesting in terms of free game choices so far.

It's not exactly PSPlus, but it's close enough.

PSNow just added pricing to its stream beta. My god, they're pretty bad.

http://kotaku.com/playstation-now-prices-are-currently-insane-1594025919

I can respect the 7 day rental, since you can beat most games by then; for $8, that's not terrible. But $5 for four hours? What? And the longer rentals are more expensive than the games! You'd be better off buying a game and trading it back in when you're done. Thankfully, it's only a beta pricing set.

Yeah. Sadly, they're actually charging beta testers now #maybe they're refunding them later, who knows). I think it's a bit of a sham to make people pay to help fix your service for you, but I've never exactly liked unfinished games like Minecraft being sold for full price in such a state. It just sort of bugs me lol

The PSN Flash Sale was excellent. I spent $10 and got 10 games.

Wild Arms 1-2, Siphon Filter 1-3, Dino Crisis 1-2, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HD, Double Dragon Neon (why not, $1), and Harvest Moon. Wild Arms alone could last me the summer lol.

God, I've never had a backlog before. I'm sceered.
